HR Advisor, Northern Hospice Alliance (1.0 FTE)

The Northern Hospice Alliance incorporates Hospice North Shore, Hibiscus Hospice and Warkworth Wellsford Hospice. Together we provide specialist palliative care services to patients and families living within our respective communities. The Alliance is committed to a forward thinking and innovative approach to service development and collaboration.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and sound HR generalist who enjoys variety and providing expert advice and support to staff and people leaders across all aspects of HR.  This is a 12 month fixed-term position to provide cover for parental leave.

Working closely with the HR Manager, you will generally be the first point of contact for all HR queries and will be responsible for providing HR services across the Alliance including recruitment and orientation, performance management, employment relations, disciplinary processes, exit procedures and health and wellness activities.

Whilst no two days will be the same, the role does have a strong focus on recruitment so experience and a passion for this vital area of HR is a must.

About You

As an experienced HR practitioner you will have had exposure to the full suite of HR activities and be able to hit the ground running. You will have a high degree of emotional intelligence and proven skills in building rapport with people across all levels of the organisation. You will have the confidence to work autonomously and provide sound advice to our internal customers. 

You will also have;

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience as an HR practitioner
  • The ability to manage a high work load, be organised, prioritise and deliver on deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt this approach for different audiences
  • Advanced computer literacy skills
  • Experience or exposure to a unionised environment with complex agreements would be advantageous but not essential
