Hours:

0.4FTE (16 hours per week)

 

Position Objective

To manage the Northern Hospice Alliance grants programme including retention of existing funders, development of new grant opportunities and day to day management of the grants programme to meet or exceed budget expectations.

Strategy

  • Work with the Fundraising Manager to develop and implement a strategy for Grants across the Northern Hospice Alliance.
  • Works with the Fundraising Manager to set annual budgets for the Grants portfolio and takes responsibility for ensuring the financial performance.

Grants and Trusts

  • Devise and implement plans to develop and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective trusts and foundations to meet agreed financial targets
  • Manage trusts and grants fundraising budget, generating income of $1.2M+
  • Ensure accountability requirements for each grant is fulfilled including correct distribution of funds to services and appropriate paperwork completion
  • Develop a business plan for major funders to maximise level and longevity of return
  • Pro-actively identify, research and develop new funding opportunities
  • Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify fundraising opportunities and enable achievement of fundraising targets
  • Produce high quality communications to support the fundraising case in line with targets
  • Research projects requiring funding and acquire detailed project information in order to build a compelling cases for support
  • Maintain the fundraising database to ensure accurate data is available for analysis and planning.
  • Prepare monthly reports for Fundraising Manager

Supporter Care

  • Delivers a high standard of Hospice care, including responding to supporter correspondence and queries
  • Maintains the supporter database as appropriate

Person Specification

Expected

Desired

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a successful fundraiser ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Successful track record in achieving fundraising or financial targets
  • Excellent relationship building and networking skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Exceptional research and information management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organised, approachable and collaborative working style
  • Excellent IT skills including the ability to use databases to manage supporter relations.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours as required.
  • A valid, clean full driver’s licence
  • Meets the Behaviours as set out in Appendix 1.
  • Experience working in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in either Fundraising or Marketing
