Position Objective

The Fundraising Events Coordinator will work as part of the Community Engagement team and assist the Fundraising Events Manager to ensure all fundraising events and activities are implemented and managed locally to deliver on budgets, targets and income in line with the Fundraising Strategy.

Financial

  • Contributes to the work of the fundraising team to ensure the financial performance of the fundraising team meets or exceeds budget annually.

Events Support

  • Assists the Fundraising Events Manager with the organisation and coordination of big events i.e. Golf Tournament, Vintners’ Brunch, Front Up and other fundraising events as required by the overall fundraising strategy.
  • Maintains key relationships with event sponsors, partners and Hospice supporters including volunteers
  • Ensures timely and appropriate acknowledgements are planned and operationalised.

 

Community Events

  • Working closely with the Community Engagement Manager;
  • Support the delivery of local campaigns and events such as Hospice Awareness Week, $Add, Trees of Remembrance and Car Lottery, Coastal Challenge, or others as required
  • Proactively grow and support local community & business fundraising opportunities.
  • Support community groups in holding fundraising events on behalf of Hospice North Shore
  • Support volunteer groups in delivering their fundraising events.
  • Oversees the coordination of volunteers for all hospice lead and community events.
  • Support community partners such as businesses, schools, Rotary, BNI and other groups in their activities for Hospice
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for events and campaigns including co-ordination of volunteer support and venue bookings.
  • Provides back up to wider Fundraising Team as appropriate
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date supporter records on the fundraising database and filing system
  • Secures auction items or other prizes or contributions to ensure event fundraising targets are met or exceeded.
  • Develop new and maintains relationships with event sponsors, participants, volunteers and supporters
  • Ensures supporters and sponsors are promptly communicated with and appropriately thanked and acknowledged.
  • Participates in post-event briefing sessions. Provides post-event analysis, budget recaps, participant feedback and incorporate learning into future plans.
  • Record activities in the fundraising database to ensure accurate data is available for analysis and planning
  • Brief and work with the Communications Team to promote local community events, including preparation of collateral, web & online fundraising and social media promotion where required.

  • Delivers a high standard of supporter care, including responding to donor correspondence and queries
  • Maintains the supporter database as appropriate

Person Specification

Expected

Desired

  • Experience in a similar fundraising or events role
  • Excellent relationship building and networking skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Highly organised, approachable and collaborative working style
  • Excellent IT skills including the ability to use databases to manage supporter relations.
  • Prepared to be flexible to attend community events or manage/coordinate events that fall outside the ‘normal’ working day.
  • Not for profit experience an advantage
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
