Registered Nurse – Inpatient Unit – Night Shift
6 month fixed-term 

Hibiscus Hospice provides specialist care for people in our community with any type of advanced, progressive disease that no longer responds to curative treatment.  This improves the quality of life for patients and families, through the prevention and relief of suffering, pain and other symptoms; physical, psychological, social and spiritual.

About the Role In our Inpatient Unit we have capacity to take 6 patients. As an RN in the Inpatient Unit you will be responsible for providing high quality nursing care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses and at different stages of their disease trajectory.    

Working alongside other members of the hospice's multi-disciplinary professional team, our nurses take pride in delivering care to an extremely high standard with a 'can do' attitude.

About You You will be a Registered Nurse who is passionate about working with patients and families with Palliative Care needs as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

You will have:

* A current NZ Annual Practising Certificate

* Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or desire to work towards the specialism of palliative care and with appropriate nursing experience required to fit this post

* Experience in Palliative Care/Oncology

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

As a new member of our nursing team you will be fully supported, whilst gaining essential knowledge and skills in specialist palliative care in a challenging and rewarding environment.

This role is being advertised as a fixed-term as the organisation is going through some exciting change and reviewing aspects of our clinical services. There may be potential for this role to be become permanent pending the outcome of the review.
